Thanks Chris & Peter,
I have already looked at this site and followed the advice to search
the registry for the offending wording.
No result though, nothing found.
Hiding the taskbar brings the "white band" I want to remove to the top
of the screen.
On the left side it has "Freeserve (in their logo style) and under, "a
wanadoo company".
On the far right side is a faded symbol of a notebook, when the mouse
arrow is
placed over it reads "click here to go the the channel homepage"
It does seem to be an integral part of the Freeserve Home page rather
than a Banner.
I suppose I will have to live with it.
Thanks again

Sorry, I misread.
Hit F11, that hides the task bars. Not a permanent solution, but I
use it
when playing online games.
Hitting F11 again returns the screen to it's normal state when you
have
finished.
Doesn't the UFAQ cover this?

On a different note, does anyone know how to remove the Wanadoo plugin from
Outlook which is driving me mental? It leaves a huge bar at the bottom of
Outlook all in Blue and won't go away whatever I try! Help, please!!!

Using menu VIEW > LAYOUT then uncheck 'info Pane', apply.
