I run Windows XP Home Edition.
Since visiting a Mp3 download site, I'm getting irritating spurious Pop-up
sex advert boxes, coming up when browsing using IE6. Despite running Norton
Anti-virus and Firewall, and also checking for spyware, etc, using the
latest version of Ad-Aware.se, PLUS having the pop-up window blocker
enabled, these keep appearing.
Obviously, there must be a programme for generating these adverts, hidden
somewhere in my computer, but despite emptying all the temp and downloaded
files, temp internet cache, etc, I cannot seem to find the little b*****d
anywhere, so I can delete it.
Anyone suffered a similar problem and how did they get rid of the little
so-and-so?
Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

Hey !!
Downloaded "SpyBot" this evening, and it found 12 Adware, Spyware and
Malware files hidden in my XP home edition H-Key sub-directories, then
deleted them. Guess what? - No rude pop-up adverts since then.....thanks a
mill to the "SpyBot" creator{s}Guys !!
-Makes me wonder though- I thought Ad-Aware and Norton, which have the
latest patches installed in both programmes, would have detected at least
one of the Spyware/Malware files? And why did they let them pass through my
Firewall in the first place? MMmmm ??

It would appear that spyware is not something easily definable, such as for
instance a virus is. Hence the multitude of (proper and genuine)
anti-spyware programs all seem to do slightly different things. I run
Spybot, Adaware, Spywareblaster and Spywareguard on my computer (together
with Avast anti-virus and Zonealarm firewall), and this seems to protect me
pretty well.

I personally distrust programs that claim to do it all, such as the
Symantec/Norton offerings.

Henry.
